It’s been one heck of a week for the AthleteX community.
After two successful integration announcements with Chainlink and SportX, we couldn’t think of a better way to top it all off than with the first testnet release of our trading app!
In case you are unfamiliar with the terminology, our testnet app is the predecessor to our mainnet launch. Similar to how software and video game companies launch alpha and beta versions before releasing their final product.
So what exactly does this mean for you?
We’re glad you asked.
The purpose of our testnet process is to get our early users acclimated with our platform and receive their feedback in order to improve upon it. This way we can ensure that our mainnet release will be up to par and meets our community’s expectations.
Our Alpha testnet is very limited and only works in desktop view, but we will be adding many more features as we build our Beta version and receive your feedback over the next few weeks.
This being said, let’s take a quick walk through our current testnet User Interface.
AXM Testnet Walkthrough
When you first navigate to our testnet site from our Discord, you will see this page:
This is where you create your AX wallet and start trading.
In our Beta version, you will be required to create a wallet before you can start trading. You will be given a mnemonic key that will serve as your password.
Your wallet will be necessary for all your AX coin affairs including buying AX, staking AX, and claiming rewards. Let’s dive into this a bit more.
Once you click “Start Trading,” the next thing you will see is the AX page:
This is where you will handle all of the AX coin affairs mentioned above. You will be able to buy AX, stake it, unstake it, and claim rewards. Staked AX provides liquidity for the Athlete Token exchange. This is extremely important, so there are two ways that you will be rewarded if you choose to stake your AX coin:
- Staking Rewards — From September 2021 to August 2023, the Staking Rewards contract will unlock 29,100,000 $AX to pay stakers Staking Rewards. $AX tokens become claimable on the Staking page as they are distributed to stakers on a pro-rata basis.
- Exchange Rewards — These are generated whenever someone swaps an Athlete Performance Token on the AX Swap. Each trade generates a 75 bps (.75%) Liquidity Provider fee paid proportionately to AX stakers.

Buying, staking, and claiming rewards through our app will all be functions available in our Beta testnet.
You may notice how there is a navigation menu at the bottom of the screen. This is how you navigate your way around the platform. The next tab in the menu is the Explore page:
This is where the real fun begins. Our Explore page is designed to allow you to search and browse available Athlete Tokens on the left and the latest sports news on the right.
Clicking on a news article will redirect you to the source site. In our Beta version, you will be able to click on Athlete Tokens to pull up their Stats and Performance pages. Athlete Token Stats and Performance pages will provide you with insights into specific athletes’ performance data over time so you can conduct a thorough analysis.
The next tab is the Swap page:
This is where you will be able to execute your desired trades. We designed our swap to function similarly to other DEX platforms such as Uniswap and Pancake Swap. You will be able to connect your external wallet and select which assets you want to swap.
You will be able to view your Athlete Token positions and portfolio performance in the menu tab on the far right side called the My Team page:
This is where you will be able to manage your account, profile, and current positions that you have open. We designed this page to resemble portfolio pages on other brokerage platforms such as Robinhood and Coinbase. Although our Alpha testnet will not have the portfolio performance chart, our dev team is currently working to implement this feature in our Beta version.
How to Get Started
Hopefully, this walkthrough will serve helpful as you navigate your way around our testnet UI.
Again, this is our Alpha testnet release. The purpose of this release is to get you and the rest of our community accustomed to the current UI design. Even though there are minimal live functionalities, we encourage you to provide us with feedback as we build our Beta version.
